Green Game Jam

Partnership

TALES is profoundly honoured to be an official member of the Playing for the Planet alliance.

Playing for the Planet is an initiative facilitated by the UN’s Environment Programme.  Within this new exciting partnership, we join a plethora of outstanding gaming studios to take action on making the global gaming industry more sustainable for the planet. This means that we are also participating in their annual flagship initiative Green Game Jam

The goal of Green Game Jam is to accelerate the number of gaming studios that take action for the environment by implementing Green Activations that inspire millions of players around the world to make more eco-conscious choices every day. Green Activations are new features and messaging implemented into existing games. This year’s theme for the Green Game Jam is on chain reactions, and how small actions can create big impact.

In keeping with the theme of how small actions can lead to significant change, we are proud to introduce a social media campaign centered on community restoration projects.

This campaign will showcase our creative collaborative process called Participatory Art Direction or PAD as we like to call it internally. PAD involves co-creating visual and narrative content with diverse Indigenous communities from Brazil, Congo, Romania, and India, ensuring their voices and stories are authentically represented. Together, we are creating unique in-game assets for our upcoming game ‘World of Us’.

These in-game assets represent important tales and calls for action, highlighting preservation and restoration efforts. This activation aims to demonstrate the profound impact that sharing stories can have on our world. Through this activation, we aim to inspire our audience to support various organisations and individuals who have remarkable stories to share and significant impact to make in their communities. These organisations include the Aquaterra Ecological Society and Conservation of Natural Biodiversity in the Danube Delta-Romania,  Shaneihu Yawanawa and the Yawarani village in the State of Acre-Brazil, Conkouati Douli National Parc and the Centre de Ressources de Cote Mateve led by Jorus Mabiala in Republic of Congo and Cholanaikkan community in Kerala, India.

Join us in supporting these communities by learning more and contributing to their restoration efforts. Follow us on TALES Instagram to get started today.
